All across the country, the right to read is under attack. Book bans, generative artificial intelligence, major publishers labeling books as “clean," and a mass-literacy crisis are threatening our livelihoods, our imaginations, and our most basic freedoms.
We believe that everyone deserves the freedom to read and see themselves in stories—no matter what you believe. That’s why we need YOU.
Here are some ways you can help:
Write your representatives…
Ask your elected officials to support the Fight Book Bans Act and to co-sponsor the Right to Read Act.
Contact your local School Board…
to insist that they pre-emptively put in place protections against book bans.
Write a message of Support….
to a Librarian, Teacher, or Author who is fighting the good fight!
